12th Annual Poetry Into Film Contest

The 12th Annual Poetry Into Film Contest is accepting submissions for the best short film inspired by a poem.

Open to all Stanford undergraduates currently enrolled, the poem can be written by anyone (living or dead), but the entire poem must appear or be spoken in the film. All formats are encouraged: film, digital, stop motion, performance, animation, cell phone, etc.

One film per student, per category. Films will be judged by Hieu Minh Nguyen. Prizes are available for first place, second place, third place, and the jury award.

All films entered will be screened at the 2024 Poetry Into Film Festival in Spring quarter.

 

Film requirements:

  • Five minute limit
  • File size: less than 2GB
  • Format: .mp4 or .mov
  • Codec: h.264 with AAC audio
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9 preferred
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (1080p) or 1280 x 720 (720p)

 

Deadline for submissions: 11:59pm on Friday, April 19
