Poetry Out Loud

Stanford’s third annual Poetry Out Loud Competition will take place on Wednesday, May 21, from 7-8 pm in the Terrace Room (460-426).

Poetry Out Loud is a poetry performance competition in which students from across the university, both grad and undergrad, are invited to celebrate poetry’s performance-based and communal tradition and give oral renditions of well known poems for 3-5 minutes each.  We are excited to announce that this year faculty judges Terry Castle (English) and Keith Ekiss (Creative Writing) will be joining us to choose a first, second, and third place winner from 10 semi-finalists.  Preliminary rounds will be held earlier in the Spring quarter. The event is jointly sponsored by both the English Department and the Creative Writing Department.

Please join us for an evening of living poetry!
