Courtney Kampa

Courtney Kampa’s first book, Our Lady of Not Asking Why, was selected by National Book Award winner Mary Szybist for New Issues Press First Book Award. A 2016 Ruth Lilly finalist, her work has appeared in Boston Review, TriQuarterly, The Journal, Missouri Review, The National Poetry Review, New England Review, and elsewhere, and she has received awards and distinctions from publications such as Best New Poets, The Atlantic, Poets & Writers Magazine, and North American Review. In 2014, she won the Rattle Poetry Prize Readers' Choice Award, as well as Columbia University's David Craig Austin Memorial Award for Most Outstanding Thesis. She was born and raised in Virginia.
