Accepting submissions for 2025-26 Creative Writing Undergraduate Prizes

We are accepting submissions for the 2025-26 Creative Writing Undergraduate Prizes!

• Bocock/Guerard Prize in Fiction
• Creative Nonfiction Prize
• Mary Steinbeck Dekker Award in Fiction (Seniors Only)
• Planet Earth Arts Creative Writing Prize
• Urmy/Hardy Prize in Poetry
• Wiley Birkhofer in Poetry

To submit entries for the prizes, fill out the submission form.

All submissions must be received by Monday, April 20, 11:59pm PST.

Detailed guidelines for each prize are available on our website.

Eligibility:

• Only active Stanford undergraduate students
• If an undergraduate student's degree has been conferred or they're on leave from Stanford, then they are not eligible
• Graduate students are not eligible

Students are granted one submission per prize and may not use the same manuscript for multiple prizes. If you want to submit to multiple prizes, submit a new form for each prize entry. Students are welcome to submit either published or unpublished pieces as their prize entries.

Submissions will be judged by a panel appointed by the Creative Writing Program. Prize winners will be announced by Wednesday, May 13 and will be invited to participate in the Undergraduate Prize Reading.
