Nicholas Friedman was born and raised in Upstate New York. He received an MFA from Cornell University, where he also lectured for two years before leaving his home state for California. Friedman is the recipient of a Ruth Lilly Fellowship, and his poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in The New York Times, Parnassus, Poetry Magazine, PN Review, Yale Review, and other publications.

Edward Porter holds an MFA from Warren Wilson College and a PhD from the University of Houston. His short fiction has appeared in The Hudson Review, The Gettysburg Review, Colorado Review, Barrelhouse, and elsewhere, and has been anthologized in Best New American Voices and elsewhere. He has received fellowships from The Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing and The MacDowell Colony, as well as an AWP Intro Journals Award.
