Essy Stone comes from East Tennessee. She received her MFA from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. She is currently revising her first manuscript, tentatively-titled What It Done to Us, and hopes to begin another collection as a Stegner Fellow. Her poetry is forthcoming in Prairie Schooner.

Josephine Rowe is an Australian writer living in Montreal. Her most recent short story collection is Tarcutta Wake, and her fiction appears in Meanjin, The Iowa Review, Harvard Review and the forthcoming McSweeney’s. In 2011 she attended the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program. During the Stegner Fellowship she plans to complete her third collection, and A Loving, Faithful Animal, a novella about a rural Australian family in the aftermath of the Vietnam War.
