Date: Wednesday, May 6 Time: 6:30 pm Location: Terrace Room, Margaret Jacks Hall (Click for map)  Brian Tierney received his MFA in poetry from the Bennington College Writing Seminars, and his Masters degree in English from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. In 2013, he was a finalist for Narrative’s “30 Below Contest,” which honors writers younger than 30 years old, as well as for Ploughshares’ Emerging Writers Contest. His poems have appeared in or are forthcoming in: AGNI, Best New Poets 2013, The Kenyon Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Narrative, Free State Review, and others. While at Stanford he hopes to finish his first poetry manuscript, and also begin work on his second collection.

Jackie Thomas-Kennedy received her MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts. Her stories have appeared in Narrative, Glimmer Train, SLICE, StoryQuarterly, Madison Review, and elsewhere. She is a recipient of fellowships from the MacDowell Colony and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown. As a Stegner Fellow, she plans to work on a collection of short stories and a novel.
