A Colloquium with Andrew Sean Greer, the Stein Visiting Writer

The Creative Writing Program is pleased to announce a colloquium with Andrew Sean Greer. The colloquium will take place in Fisher Conference Center, followed by lunch in McColl Plaza.

Andrew Sean Greer is the Pulitzer Prize winning author of six works of fiction, including the bestsellers The Confessions of Max Tivoli and Less. Greer has taught at a number of universities, including the Iowa Writers Workshop. He's also been a TODAY show pick, a New York Public Library Cullman Center Fellow, a judge for the National Book Award, and a winner of the California Book Award and the New York Public Library Young Lions Award. He is the recipient of a NEA grant, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. He lives in San Francisco and Milan. His seventh book will come out from Little, Brown in Fall 2022.

Greer is this year's Stein Visiting Writer. Each year, the Creative Writing Program welcomes distinguished writers to teach a Stanford writing seminar to undergraduates. Greer's seminar will be Reading for Writers: The Thief and The Golem. These seminars are made possible with the generous support of Isaac and Madeline Stein.
