Writers Jalen Eutsey and Ashley Hand share the power in the mundane
Nostalgia filled the Mackenzie Room, as a vibrant, eager audience gathered for the first Stegner Fellow Reading of winter quarter. The reading featured first-year fellows, Jalen and Ashley, who recited poetry and fiction revolving around their memories and connections to home.

Stegner Fellows Jonathan Escoffery and Jamil Jan Kochai contenders for the National Book Award for Fiction
The National Book Foundation announced the Longlist for the 2022 National Book Award for Fiction. Of the ten contenders, two Stegner Fellows were selected: Jonathan Escoffery, a current 2nd year fellow, and Jamil Jan Kochai, who recently completed his fellowship in the summer.
