Stegner Reading with Courtney Kampa and Michael Sears

Please join the Stanford Creative Writing Program for a Reading with Stegner Fellows Courtney Kampa & Michael Sears.

Michael Sears was born in Ohio and is a personal trainer in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he earned his MFA. He is the recipient of a 2016 Henfield prize. His work is forthcoming in Narrative.
Courtney Kampa’s first book, Our Lady of Not Asking Why, was selected by National Book Award winner Mary Szybist for New Issues Press First Book Award. A 2016 Ruth Lilly finalist, her work has appeared in Boston ReviewTriQuarterlyThe JournalMissouri ReviewThe National Poetry ReviewNew England Review, and elsewhere, and she has received awards and distinctions from publications such as Best New PoetsThe AtlanticPoets & Writers Magazine, and North American Review. In 2014, she won the Rattle Poetry Prize Readers’ Choice Award, as well as Columbia University’s David Craig Austin Memorial Award for Most Outstanding Thesis. She was born and raised in Virginia.
